Irresponsible people....

So we had friends over this weekend. We invited certain people because they were complaining we never were the ones who had anyone over. Truth be told its because we live so far away from everyone else its easier for the two of us to travel than to have everyone else come  to where we live- we live an hour away from our friends. So my man asks everyone if a particular day is good for everyone to come up to our house and everyone agrees to a certain day. We get all excited because we never have company and we've asked tons of friends and family to come and we have an open door policy but no one ever comes by because we live out in the sticks. I mean, we have dial up internet service, we pay for long distance phone calls (it isn't in a bundle, it is seven cents a minute) and we do not have cable here.
The person who did the complaining about us not having anyone over didn't even show up! They stayed at home and ordered an event on cable television over an evening of friendship. That showed me where their priorities lie. Situations like this makes you realize where you stand with your "friends."
